Fresh-cut Christmas trees
opening day
Fraser firs, handmade wreaths and garland at the Village at Robinson Farm, 8446 Rea Road, from Friday, Nov 20 through the weekend before Christmas.
Why Fraser fir
Fraser firs grow best above 3,000 feet, and the mountains around West Jefferson grow some of the best in the country. They have soft blue-green needles, strong branches for heavy ornaments, and the best needle retention of any Christmas tree you can buy.
Ours come from small West Jefferson growers we know personally and are cut fresh in November, not stockpiled since Halloween. That's why they smell the way a Christmas tree should, all the way to New Year's.

Keep your tree fresh
A well-watered Fraser fir easily lasts four to five weeks indoors. Four things make the difference.
- Make a fresh cutIf the tree won't go into water within a few hours, take a half-inch slice off the bottom of the trunk so it can drink.
- Use a big enough standA tree drinks a lot in the first week. Choose a stand that holds about a quart of water for every inch of trunk width.
- Never let it run dryCheck the water every day and keep it above the base of the trunk. Plain tap water is all it needs.
- Keep it coolSet it away from fireplaces, heaters and vents. A cooler room means a fresher tree through New Year's.
